It's really choppy and suuuuuper scribbly because I took like 30 seconds to draw each frame. Please fill in the gaps and gloss over the art with your wonderful imagination! I made it in Windows Movie Maker which is an absolutely evil program =o=

The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

Yes, I loved Megamind! Dreamworks is just convincing me more and more of their awesomeness this year, first with How to Train Your Dragon and now Megamind! That movie just had me in a constant state of whelmed.

It doesn't get any less entertaining. XD When I've seen a movie once already I tend to start nitpicking the details and with Megamind that happened maybe twice, which means that it's perfect! Plus I love the soundtrack.

a.) Yeah, it's likely for your dA anniversary as the site honors both your real B-Day and the day you joined dA.

b.) Saw "Megamind" last week. I admit I'm not crazy 'bout it ("How To Train Your Dragon" was far more to my liking, personally), but credit where it's due, it was far and away better than I expected, and I have no difficulty at all seeing how someone else could enjoy it. ^_^
