I think Zuko's more like Simon since they both are very formal, very quiet about their feelings, have both have lost an easy and amazing life, and they both have super crazy sisters. xD
Suki is most like Inara because they come from elusive organizations that have trained them very well in their respective arts. Also, they both have an air of respect and aren't always a part of the crew's adventures. This then makes it easy to cast Ty Lee as that tricky red-head who tried to marry Mal in the episode called "Our Mrs. Reynolds". This assumes that Mal is Sokka, which I adore.
And Aang? Umm, how about Sherherd Book? LOL and then Toph is Jayne.
I don't know, I think Zutara works well as Mal and Inara. I can see Katara being like both Inara and Kaylee for different reasons, she has the beauty and grace of Inara while having Kaylee heart worn on her sleeve quality as well as being kind to all. Zuko is very much Mal, but he does have Simon's inability to speak to girls, saying the wrong things while trying to be romantic and so on.
Toph would be a combo of Jayne, Zoe and River. Sokka would be Wash with maybe a little bit of Jayne thrown in and Aang? Aang is like... I know this has been said before, but he really is like a male version of Kaylee with maybe so Wash thrown in for his humor. Lol
